Okay so, your person just got down on one knee, asked you to spend forever with them, and you said “YES!” You’re newly engaged and now you’re thinking, What’s next?! After the happy tears have gone away, the champagne has been popped, and suddenly becoming left-handed (if you weren’t already 😉 ), take a deep breath and dive on in. Sometimes this can seem overwhelming and a tad bit of anxiety can set in shortly after getting engaged. Guess what? That’s totally normal! No need to worry because everything will get sorted out in time. Today I’m sharing the top 4 things to after getting engaged. Keep reading to find out what they are!
FIRST, schedule visits to several venues. This is important because seeing it in person could be different from the photos you saw online. There are multiple things to consider when choosing a venue (location, style, price, availability, etc.) so making sure you visit a few places is good to do. Plus, once you find your venue, it makes it easier to get your date on the calendar!
SECOND, choose your date! This one is SO important. Everything else that you will be doing will rely on a date, so get this one picked out early on!
THIRD, reach out to photographers! Okay so you guys knew I was going to say this, but your wedding photos are one of the few things you will have to look back on after your wedding day is over. It is so crucial to choose a photographer that you trust and vibe with. You should love their style too! If those two things happen and they have your date available, it just might be meant to be!
LASTLY, have FUN! You just said yes to one of the biggest questions of your life and it deserves to be celebrated. This time of being newly engaged is one that is meant to be fun! Tell your family and friends, ask your wedding party to stand by your side, start that guest list, or have an engagement party!
While wedding planning can turn into a stressful event at times, it is so important to just have fun! I hope that this list of 4 things to do after getting engaged was helpful for you! Try to keep in mind the reason behind all this planning and the vows your going to make to your person. You will put so much into planning your big day and while it will be perfect, something is bound to go wrong. It always does. But that’s what makes it YOUR day and no one else’s. Plus, I promise you that no one will even notice those hiccups. Happy Planning, friends!
Much love,
Lauren
