One thing that 2020 taught me is that a small and intimate backyard wedding can be just as beautiful as a big wedding at a fancy venue! McKenzie and Andy were one of the many couples who had to make a tough decision to postpone their big celebration to the next year. However, they did still decide to get married and it was amazing to see their families come together to give them once heck of a wedding! Believe it or not this wedding took place at her aunt and uncles house – like what?!! Just wait until you see this Illinois backyard wedding!
Initially, I was supposed to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, but when she decided to postpone her celebration, I was prepared to get in my bridesmaid dress and watch online with a big glass of wine! Next thing I knew she explained that she wanted to save her initial wedding photographer for her postponed date, and she asked me to capture this day for her. I was so surprised, but SO excited!
McKenzie’s mom came up with the vision for the decorations and Andy’s mom used to be a florist so she took the lead there. I’d say they made one heck of a team because this Illinois backyard wedding was stunning!
Andy & McKenzie – you’re MARRIED! I am so incredibly happy for you both! Thank you for letting me be a part of it. Love you times a million! I already know that you two are going to make one heck of a life together!
Love,
Lauren
